A dark blue 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition was listed privately in Banning, California on October 28, 2026 at $14,000, with 170,100 miles. The owner has had it three years and says it has had no mechanical issues in that time. The one line that stands out is that the diesel particulate filter was replaced about 30,000 miles ago, which is the single most expensive emissions part on this engine. We keep the record so the next buyer has a reference for a high-mileage diesel Cayenne.
What it is
The Cayenne Diesel pairs the second-generation Cayenne with the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel and an 8-speed automatic. The Platinum Edition added bigger wheels and a few extras to the base car. This one wears black-painted wheels, a tow package and a black leather interior, and the owner says it is all original with no modifications.

What the seller discloses:
- Clean title, all-wheel drive, towing package
- DPF replaced, about 30,000 miles ago
- All original, no modifications
- Passes California smog
- No issues, daily driven
- Selling because it is no longer needed

The photos show a tidy black cabin with the usual Cayenne console, seats without obvious wear and a body that reads straight in evening light. The black wheels are the main visual change from stock.

Why this car matters
2013 was the first year Porsche sold a diesel in North America, and the Cayenne Diesel was the result of Porsche watching Audi and Volkswagen sell every Q7 TDI and Touareg TDI they could build. The 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel makes 406 lb-ft of torque from just above idle, which is why a diesel Cayenne feels quicker in traffic than its 240 horsepower suggests, and why Porsche rated it to tow 7,700 pounds. The diesel scandal three years later turned these into orphans, and a lot were bought back and crushed. The survivors are mostly cars whose owners took the emissions fix and kept driving, which is why this one still passes California smog. What makes this car cool is the combination of a tow package, black wheels and a fresh particulate filter on a Porsche that costs less than a new Corolla. It is the cheap way into a Porsche SUV that actually works for a living.

Is $14,000 a fair ask?
The mileage is the highest of the diesel Cayennes we have logged, and that normally pushes the price down. What supports the ask is the replaced DPF, the fact that it passes California smog, three years of one-owner use and a tow package. What hurts it is the mileage itself and the fact that a private sale carries no warranty. On balance it is a fair ask for a car with a fresh DPF, because that part alone is a big share of the price on a used diesel Porsche.
A little Cayenne Diesel history
Porsche sold the Cayenne Diesel in the United States from the 2013 to the 2016 model year, all with the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel. The engine was included in the 2016 diesel emissions settlement, which took many of these off the road, so the ones left are mostly fixed cars that owners chose to keep. The V8 Cayenne S Diesel was never sold in North America.
