A black 2014 Porsche Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition was listed by a dealer in Moreno Valley, California in September 2026 at $13,500 cash, and it was still up in late October. The mileage is 138,700, the title is clean, and the interior is the Luxor beige leather that looks far better in photos than the black most of these were ordered with. We are logging it because diesel Cayennes in the United States are a shrinking pool and the prices are worth tracking.
What it is
The Cayenne Diesel uses the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel shared with Audi and Volkswagen, driving all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic. The Platinum Edition was an equipment package that added larger wheels, bi-xenon headlights and a few interior upgrades on top of the base diesel. This one is metallic black over beige, on the Platinum wheels, and the engine bay photo shows the diesel cover still in place.

What the dealer lists:
- 138,700 miles, clean title
- Metallic black exterior, Luxor beige leather interior
- Described as excellent condition and well maintained
- Cash price, excludes government fees, taxes, finance charges and the dealer documentation charge

The rest of the ad is standard dealer language about Porsche performance and diesel efficiency, which we have left out. The photos are the useful part: the beige seats have no visible cracking, the cargo area has a fitted liner, and the paint reads straight in the shade.

Why this car matters
The Platinum Edition was Porsche’s way of bundling the options most buyers ticked anyway. On the Cayenne Diesel it added 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels, bi-xenon headlights, a two-tone interior and Platinum badging for a package price that was less than ordering the parts. Under it is the same 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel with 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft, an 8-speed automatic and a 7,700-pound tow rating. The Cayenne Diesel was the only diesel Porsche sold in North America and it lasted just four model years before the diesel scandal ended it. What makes this one cool is the Luxor beige interior against black paint, which is the combination the Platinum Edition was designed around and the one that photographs best. It is also a Porsche that will do 28 miles per gallon on the highway and pull a race car to the track.

Is $13,500 a fair ask?
Thirteen and a half is at the low end of what diesel Cayennes list for in Southern California, and the beige interior and clean title help. What hurts the ask is that it is a cash price before fees and taxes, the mileage is high for a Porsche, and the ad says nothing about service history, the emissions recall or the oil leaks these engines develop. A dealer car with no history is a car you inspect before you believe the description. If it checks out, the price is fair.
A little Cayenne Diesel history
Porsche sold the Cayenne Diesel in the United States from the 2013 to the 2016 model year. The V6 was part of the 2016 diesel emissions settlement, and many were bought back and scrapped, which is why they are now uncommon. The Platinum Edition was offered on the diesel and the S Hybrid as a value package in 2013 and 2014.
