A silver 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML 320 CDI appeared on a dealer lot in Breslau, outside Kitchener, Ontario, in late October 2026, asking C$6,995 plus HST with 203,000 km. The dealer says the price includes certification, a Carfax and a 36-day warranty, which is more than most ML diesels at this price come with. We are keeping the record because this is the cheap end of the diesel ML market in Ontario and a useful comparison to the private Saskatoon car in our archive.
What it is
The ML 320 CDI is the 2007 to 2008 diesel version of the first W164 M-Class, with the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel, 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. It is the version without the AdBlue tank, which some buyers prefer for its simpler emissions system. This one is silver over black leather with the sunroof and navigation, on the standard alloy wheels.

Equipment listed by the dealer:
- All-wheel drive and automatic transmission
- Leather, heated and power front seats
- Power sunroof
- Navigation
- Cruise control, power windows, locks and mirrors
- Alarm and CD player

The dealer describes it as extra clean and well maintained with a smooth engine, which is standard lot language. The photos back up the clean part: the seats show little wear, the headliner is intact and the body panels line up. The price excludes HST, and the dealer offers financing and an extended warranty.

Why this car matters
The ML 320 CDI only existed for two model years in Canada, 2007 and 2008, before Mercedes renamed the diesel BlueTEC and added the urea system. That makes these the simplest diesel MLs to own and the ones diesel people seek out. The 3.0-litre V6 made 215 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, more twist than the V8 ML 500, through a 7-speed automatic and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. It will tow a car trailer and still return highway fuel economy that embarrasses a four-cylinder crossover. What makes this one cool is that it is a certified, warrantied diesel Mercedes with a sunroof and navigation for less than a lot of people pay for a ten-year-old Corolla. Silver over black is the colour most of them came in, which makes it easy to find parts and hard to find excuses.

Is C$6,995 a fair ask?
For a certified diesel ML with a short warranty, this is a low ask. What supports it is the certification, which in Ontario means the brakes, tires and structure have passed a safety inspection, and the comparatively low mileage for the engine. What works against it is the same as every ML 320 CDI: no mention of the oil cooler seals, the swirl flap motor or the injector seals, and a dealer description that lists features rather than history. Add the tax and it is still fair for a car that passes a proper inspection.
A little ML 320 CDI history
Mercedes sold the ML 320 CDI in Canada for 2007 and 2008 only. For 2009 it became the ML 320 BlueTEC with urea injection, and from 2010 the ML 350 BlueTEC. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel made 215 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, which is why the diesel ML was the one to buy for towing a boat or a camper.
